Position Title UXO Technician II
United States of America - Florida
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly motivated UXO Technician II for immediate employment in the Glen Allen, VA office. Project is located in Key West, FL. This is a part-time variable position, meaning work days and times will be determined on an as-needed basis.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Properly stores explosive materials per applicable guidance
Determines precise location in field environment using a variety of techniques such as use of global positioning equipment, or basic land navigation techniques using topographical map and compass
Performs field collection procedures to identify contaminated soil
Prepares an on-site holding area to temporarily stow MEC that has an acceptable risk of movement
Operates modes of transportation for transporting UXO, for which the risk of movement has been determined acceptable, when appropriate
Performs limited technical supervision of UXOSP
Escorts personnel who are not directly involved in UXO-related operations (e.g., personnel performing environmental monitoring), but have activities to perform within exclusion areas
Inspects MPPEH for the presence of explosives safety hazards
Graduate of a Military EOD School of the United States and have two years or more prior military EOD and/or commercial UXO experience in response munitions response actions or range clearance activities OR a graduate of a formal UXO training course of instruction (as defined in the Department of Defense Explosives Safety Board (DDESB) TP 18 chapter 3 with three years documented experience in response munitions response actions or range clearance activities, as appropriate for the contracted operation, plus specific project/explosives safety training
The UXO Tech II must be able to perform the duties of the UXOSP, and UXO Tech I
Must be able to successfully complete required Background Check and Medical Surveillance Program
Successful completion of Texas Engineering Extension Service UXO200 - Unexploded Ordnance Technician Level Course and 200 hours of on-site training on MEC and MPPEH project sites
40 HR Hazwoper Certification
8 HR Hazwoper Certification (If applicable)
OSHA Physical Certification
Must have prior experience for collecting geophysical data using EM61-MK2 and RTK-DGPS
